Clean Kids Rooms Every Day – DAY 2

This entry is part 2 of 5 in the series Kids Clean Room Challenge

Kids Clean Room Challenge_How did you do with Monday’s Kids Clean Room Challenge? Did you feel a little bit more pulled together after getting those kid rooms tidy and ready for the day?

Did you wake up to find you had to do it all over again because the room became a disaster area for discarded toys and games?

Yeah, me too!

So here is what we need to do today:

TUESDAY

To-do:

Parents, as soon as your kids wake up, go into their room and do a quick pick-up.  Put toys, books, games, etc. back into their places.  Encourage your little ones to help you by singing the “Clean up” song (we have young ones that really respond to music), if that helps.  Once everything is put away in its proper place, help your kid to make her bed.

Yes, that is the exact same thing you did yesterday.  This will be a new habit for you and your kids, if you want to maintain order in your kids’ room.

The new thing to do for today is put away all clean laundry and put dirty laundry in the hamper.

Challenge:

Consider teaching your little one how to fold and put away his own clothes (in an age appropriate manner).  Having specific places for each clothing item helps your child to know where everything goes when putting away clothing.

With your supervision, he should quickly be able to show you where to put his shirts, pants, shoes, and socks and place them in their appropriate places.  For your older ones, you might consider teaching them an easy way to hang up shirts with this tutorial for hanging clothes like a genius.  It is so quick and easy!

Are you joining us for this Kid’s Clean Room Challenge this week?  I would love to hear from you.  Let me know the specific things you struggle to maintain in your kid’s room.  Or let me know the success you had today from doing this simple challenge.  I want to answer questions and encourage you and your little ones!

I love your green bins. Can you tell me where you purchased them?? 🙂

Hi Toni, I got them at Babies R’ US. This was a few years back now, but I think they still carry similar items.
