One of my go-to shopping spots is Groopdealz. They are a curated shopping site that offers a lot of great deals each day on things I LOVE. I mostly shop their home products, but I have purchased some of their clothing and jewelry deals in the past and have loved everything I have ordered from them.
But today it got even better: Groopdealz is now Eleventh Avenue. When I got the notice saying that they had changed their name, I was so excited! For those of you who don’t know, all of our family days are on the eleventh of the month. Our anniversary is on September 11th, our first born on June 11th, and our youngest on October 11th! So, my head and my heart leans toward eleven! Now I get to shop for fun things for our home from Eleventh Avenue! Continue Reading
We were! There are a TON of Holiday weekend promotions out there each major (and some minor) holiday. Stores simply want you to get in the door and they will often offer great deals to do it. But some stores reward you for stopping by on a holiday weekend. We were throwing away these offers, but not anymore!
Now we get a reward each holiday weekend. If it is a federal holiday, we get at least a $20 gift card just by doing one simple thing.
We were recently blessed with the gift of 3 Day passes to Disneyland and California Adventure and were so excited to take our girls with family. We took them in March and then again at the beginning of June to celebrate family birthdays. Like I said we were blessed with these tickets (they are not cheap!). But even with free admission, a trip to Disney can be hard on the wallet. And going with little ones can make for lots of “Can I have this?” all day. But after we got home from the park, I started to realize just what our toddlers valued as mementos or souvenirs for the day. And I was surprised to find out what they love and play with are not the most expensive things. In fact some of them are FREE! Continue Reading
I have loved going to Starbucks since my college days. We would go on a fairly regular basis and get a cup of coffee whilst studying (read: generally procrastinating with books open). And I still love to treat myself to Starbucks, but it is admittedly an expensive treat. But in the last couple of years the folks at Starbucks have worked very hard to make it something a bit more budget-friendly (meaning people will come more often!). Their Starbucks Rewards program is actually very generous and makes a coffee-flavored goody more attainable even on a budget. Continue Reading

I do realize that to some today’s task might not sound much like an accomplishment worth writing about, but I am pretty pleased it was finished today and it was not the easiest task I have done this month. You see, I have been complaining about my cell phone for a few months now and my techie husband has been gently encouraging me to take the plunge and buy a new one.
After complaining about it yet another time, my husband said, “We could get it over at Best Buy and get them to price match it from Amazon and have it today.” Well, yesterday was today in this story, but we have a toddler and a baby, so you do things when you can. But I was motivated to say yes because I am a ShopKicker and I knew I would be able to really rack up the rewards if I purchased at Best Buy. Continue Reading
I talked about creating an email account to corral all the sale notifications and coupons without filling up your personal email account in the ABCs of Saving: Email Yourself Deals, so this is a kind of follow-up to that tip.
Once you have an email account set up for your deals, make sure to opt-in for emails for all your favorite and most frequented stores. When you do, make sure you do a few things: Continue Reading
