Are you planning on taking a trip to Barnes and Noble this weekend? If you are, you might want to take advantage of their new in store only offer for NOOK Books.
I love a Buy One Get One free offer and Barnes is now obliging my obsession with reading material by offering a BOGO on select NOOK books each weekend. The list will change each week and is only available on Saturday and Sunday, in store. So it is a great way to get a good deal and have an outing for the weekend. The choices for this week are listed above. Continue Reading
There seems to be a glut of bloggers who talk about Amazon’s abundant deals on e-books. They seem to have an endless supply of free and cheap books that changes very often. While it is very nice to be able to get free and cheap books and download them onto your computer (no kindle required); I am a proud Nook Tablet owner (3rd generation, baby!) and I want to read my free and cheap books on my preferred device.
Sadly, until recently when searching for free books or book deals on the nook through the Barnes and Noble website, one would come across a ridiculous amount of unsavory and unedited books. Which leads one to think, “Is it really a good deal or just a deal?”
That’s why I was so excited when BN started a new collection of books that are under $3.00 called 101 Nook Books Under $2.99. The selections on the list change about every 14 days and include lots of genres. There is something for everyone from romance to biography, from thrillers to sci-fi. It often includes former best-sellers, as well. Here are some selections you can find on there, as of today:
In addition to these great books, they have deal of the day books as well as a Friday Freebie! Gotta love it.
I also found out that BN has free apps, so you don’t have to have a nook to get these great deals and reads. Amazing what a little bit of research will do!
Happy Friday and Happy Reading!
Note: This post includes affiliate links. When you click and purchase, I get a little something. No pressure, I am bringing this to you so you can know the deals out there, not to line my pockets.
Looking for that post-back to school getaway to reward yourself for making it all the way through a summer with kids in the house? Hoping to surprise your sweetheart with a romantic getaway? Want to have a reason to get out-of-town for a weekend?
Whatever the reason for wanting to get away for a little bit of relaxation, I think I have the perfect suggestion. This week on Plum District (my favorite flash deal site for moms) the La Quinta Resort and Club is offering killer deals on stays at their resort. A night at the Waldorf Astoria affiliated resort is just $116 to $145!! The rooms are fabulous and the location in the desert, tucked into the cove of the mountains is not to be missed.
And being from the desert, myself, I must say I know a little bit about what is in store for you when you decide to stay there. Here are a few suggestions of how to spend your evening in the cove:
Take a walk through Old Town La Quinta and visit the cute boutiques and restaurants. Spend some time with Clint Eastwood (or at least pictures of him) at the Hog’s Breath Inn and enjoy a coffee from La Quinta Coffee Company.
Bike ride to the top of the cove and enjoy a beautiful view of the valley.
Take in a concert in the grove through the Grooves in the Grove program.
Hit the links for a twilight round of golf. They have 5 courses in the Club!
The next day, get up and enjoy a relaxing time at the pool or the spa! The package includes free drinks by the pool, a discount at the spa and restaurants on site, and free valet parking!
I can’t think of a better way to spend some time in La Quinta. In fact, I may have to surprise D with a little anniversary staycation and our first night away from G. Hmmm… the possibilities.
