March MAIDness: Day 13: Mopping Up

Pass along this Simple.Home.Blessing.

Wednesday is my usual sweep and mop the downstairs day.  And it is quite the chore, but I enjoy the fruits of the labor.  I love the feel of freshly clean floors!  Sadly, with a toddler, the floors don’t stay clean long!

Since we have been working on homemade cleaners this week, I am extra excited about the chore for today.  I found a great recipe for a floor cleaning solution and I cannot wait to give it a try. Here is the recipe:

  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. liquid dish soap (I am using Seventh Generation)
  • 1/4 cup washing soda (I found Arm & Hammer at the store)
  • 2 gallons warm/hot water

Sounds pretty easy.  I will let you know how it goes.

The challenge for today is to mix up a batch of this floor cleaning goodness and give it a go.

I think I evicted my inner maid. I can barely remember her.

Sounds like you’re going strong with spring cleaning. Good for you! How lucky your family is to have someone willing to make the home a more pleasant place. Okay, maybe I’ll clean something. But we got several inches of snow last night. Doesn’t that mean it’s still winter and I can spring clean after it melts?

Happy Sharefest. I hope you have a lovely weekend.
