Sappy Romance

This month marks the 8th wedding anniversary for my husband and me.  I still look back over the road the Lord led us down to find each other and I marvel at His creativity.  We have a very long love story but my favorite part of it is that we were friends first.

I know a lot of people say, “We were friends first,” but we were truly friends from the very first time we met with no hidden agendas, no maybe someday longings, just simply two people who thought the other was cool enough to hang out with and laugh with.

But one day, on a day that God ordained long before we ever met, four years after we had become friends and two years since we had seen each other, I decided to take the 2 hour trip down to hang out and watch movies.  I needed some serious de-stress time and knew that my buddy Drew could help me out with that.

When we stepped out of our cars to meet each other in the Rite Aid parking lot, our lives changed forever.  It was as if God tapped me on the shoulder and said, “There he is.”  And God did the same for Drew.  We fell in love that March 6th day eight years ago and got married a short six months later.

So, as I reminisce about that on a regular basis I am still in awe of the way that God had planned our lives to run parallel, then intersect and then become one.   It takes my breath away that I get to live my life with my best friend!

I found this piece of artwork (at the top of this post) last night and I impulse ordered it.  I am not sure where it will go in the house (my office and the dining room are top contenders at the moment) but I just had to have it.  It is the story of us told in eight simple words…how perfect!

Oh, and since I was in the romantic mood, I had to stop myself from also purchasing these:
