5 Minute Decluttering Tip

This entry is part 22 of 40 in the series Hope for Homemakers

5 minutes and a box - donationHow did you spend your 5 minutes yesterday?  Were you able to remove the first layer of junk in one room?

This will be a real short post because I have to get ready to teach Bible study this morning.

Set that timer again and this time focus on a specific goal.  Dana White suggests picking up things to donate.  Grab a box or some large receptacle and put all the items you no longer use that would be a blessing to another person.  Place them in the box and put the box in your car by the end of the 5 minutes.

Now Dana didn’t say to do this, but I think that as you drive to the drop off spot for your donated items, you should treat yourself to a coffee of something yummy.  Doesn’t that sound like a good reward for a deed well done?

Oh, and come back home and do all the other habits.

If you do donate some items today, be sure to make a list and/or take a picture of the box.  You would be surprised how much you are able to write-off at the end of the year for tax purposes.  But having proof is very important in case the taxman cometh.  You can share your pictures on Instagram (#hopeforhome)
